Established in 2003, Larkhill Tipis and Yurts is an award winning 20 acre eco-friendly smallholding located in beautiful countryside near Cardigan Bay, West Wales, with fantastic views over the Teifi Valley. Set on the edge of four acres of mature woodland are five different nomadic structures – a Mongolian ger, a Bentwood yurt, an Alachigh (a stunning dome-like structure), an 18′ Native American Indian Tipi and a Lavvu, used by the Sami tribe in Scandinavia. Each tent has its own ‘space’ with hand-made stepping stones weaving in and around the campsite to prevent muddy paths! The woodland has meandering pathways, numerous wood carvings and a laburnum avenue leading into a seven ringed labyrinth.
All of the accommodation has comfortable beds and furnishings, including sheepskins and large cushions, with woodburning stoves in all of the accommodation. The campsite (and our home) is ‘off grid’ and powered by wind, solar and water power, which has been developed over the last twenty four years. We have rare breed Boreray sheep and a variety chickens and turkeys. Facilities include a well equipped communal log cabin, a play area in a woodland setting for children, two hot showers and toilets. All cooking equipment and camping paraphernalia is supplied. We are always on hand to give assistance and offer a friendly service. This is a quiet location, ideal for families and couples looking for a relaxed, alternative and sustainable holiday.
