The Cwtch is a cosy, studio-style base for walkers, cyclists or anyone who wants to investigate the amazing Ceredigion coastline. The uniquely Welsh word “Cwtch” can be described as “A warm affectionate hug, cuddle or snuggle that gives a feeling of a safe place or home”; the Welsh version of Hygge! A comfy Victorian iron & brass double bed, crisp white bed linen, upcycled vintage furniture, a romantic woodburning stove for heating and warming your toes, plus a kitchenette with kettle, toast, a microwave and a small fridge/freezer. There is an en-suite shower, loo and hand basin with hot and cold running water. A small gravelled patio area with table and chairs enable you to enjoy your breakfast in the fresh Welsh air in the mature garden. A bag of logs and kindling is provided for every night booked; more can be bought locally as you require. Milk, tea, coffee and sugar are provided for your use, with Continental-Style self-service breakfast available if required (see website for details). All bed linen is supplied (high quality white cotton, feather duvet), 1 bath towel provided per guest, plus hand towel and tea towel. Please bring your own beach towels.
There are many places to explore on foot in the immediate surroundings of The Cwtch. Stroll through National Trust-owned woodland to the small secluded beach of Traith Soden, which is only accessible by foot. Here, you can join the stunning Ceredigion Coastal Path, walking North to New Quay or south towards Cwmtydu, Llangrannog and beyond, spotting dolphins and seals on the way. The dog-friendly Cardi Bach bus service runs between Cardigan and New Quay through Caerwedros daily in the summer months, and continues three days a week for the remainder of the year. This provides a great opportunity to walk to different sections of the coastal path during your stay.
