Welcome to Waunifor, a gem of a place, nestling in the Teifi Valley on the borders of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. Our 6 stone and slate self-catering cottages were once part of the historic Waunifor estate and are rich in character and history. Each one is unique and individual, sleeping from 2-10 people, and altogether they provide accommodation for up to 36 people.   They are spacious, fully equipped, centrally heated and most have a wood-burner or open fire, each with unique character and style. The delightful gardens include a children's play area, wooded copse, fenced off duckpond and stream, Victorian walled garden, paddock and various courtyards providing many nooks and crannies to explore and discover. Our 6 cottages are: The Longhouse (sleeps 10) is a delightful listed building built in 1760 with inglenook fireplace with wood-burner and oak beams and a panelled dining area. The 5 bedrooms are on 2 floors with 2 bathrooms and as well as a small kitchen it has an enclosed garden and at the back overlooks the walled garden. Coach-house Mews (sleeps 8) is an elegant mews-style cottage, on one upper level, above Carriage Mews and once provided accommodation for the estate coachmen and their families. It has large windows with views of the Waunifor gardens and has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a large cosy lounge with open fire. Carriage Mews (sleeps 6) was recently converted and offers contemporary style accommodation with an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen, wooden floors throughout and a large double bedoom and 2 twins. Stable Cottage (sleeps 6). Originally home to the estate horses, Stable Cottage now offers character accommodation with 3 twin bedrooms, a large lounge/diner with wood-burner and separate kitchen. Robin Cottage (sleeps 4) is a cosy cottage for 4 people with 1 double bedroom and 2 singles all on one floor. Duckpond Cottage has one double bedroom and an plan lounge/kitchen and dining area. Our 2 large modern eco-friendly meeting rooms are also available to hire for functions, training, parties or wedding receptions and we can provide catering for any event. We also have a resident potter in our on-site pottery studio so you can enjoy learning a new skill of ‘throwing on the wheel’ whilst on holiday. Our craft tutor also offers workshops in felt making, mosaics, jewellery making and glass painting and we can arrange painting classes according to demand. Located along a quiet country lane there are beautiful walks nearby including the local bluebell woods and the old Druids path running alongside the Teifi river which is rich in local history. The unspoilt beaches of Cardigan Bay cannot be beaten for variety and beauty and can be reached in 30 minutes by car. New Quay is home to one of the largest pods of bottlenose dolphin s in the UK and Llangrannog is a quirky cove, once home to smugglers, and now famous for its beachside Patio café serving homemade Italian ice-creams. The Coastal Path has now been opened up and runs through Ceredigion and on to Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire offering a variety of coastal and circular walks. Waunifor is also in easy reach of many local attractions including steam railways, woollen mills, gardens, stately homes and interesting villages. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
